Do areas of your body have excess fat, the same on both sides, in places like thighs, hips, buttocks, or upper arms? I've paid special attention to lipedema over the years and appreciate the challenges associated having this diagnosis. After discussing your history and performing a physical exam, I can determine whether or not this is lipedema. I can also help you understand how to care for your lipedema and improve your quality of life.

Is it Lipedema?

If you're planning on having surgery to improve your lipedema, it is likely that you'll need a physical exam and evaluation of your disease. A referral will provide the information you need to send to your insurance company to attain coverage.

Think your thyroid isn't functioning correctly yet your health care provider says everything is fine? With years as an ecological physiologist, she will explain why you have so many symptoms of low thyroid yet your TSH and Free T4 are perfectly normal. Further testing, along with symptom evaluation, demonstrates what we call "famine response hypothyroidism." In some cases, long-term trauma - past or present - can cause a similar response. These ideas are not in line with standard thinking on thyroid and they provide treatment and symptom resolution where conventional approaches fail.
